Founder of Sandal Studios tells us how he inherits pre-loved objects

Today’s Object Talks looks a little different from previous ones, as we’re kicking off a collection-focused piece. I’m thinking of “collection” broadly, say through exploring intentional curation (an obsession with something even; hoarding tendencies?) or digging into someone’s life stories through surveying their various modes of consumption (matters of taste, style, preferences).
For this one, I’m excited to have Marcus Mohan of Sandal Studios share about five of his favourite objects at home - most of them secondhand and amassed over the years. He tells us about their origin stories and how he came to have them. All of them expectedly spanning generations, some within the family.
